The Art of the Banshee

I had the pleasure of creating a special piece of art for Pandora: World of Avatar, specifically with women in mind. I first started with pencil sketches, playing with typography and different icons from the land. I knew I wanted the end result to be something softer and more feminine, but wasn’t sure to translate the idea at first.

My team and I toured Pandora prior to park opening and I found 2 pieces inside the land that really inspired me. The first being a beautiful banshee sculpture inside of Windtraders and the second being the cave art, with it’s soft feel and light tones. After some style explorations, I ended up with a whimsical, stylized banshee myself. This was such an amazing project to work on and I was so elated to see the art on merchandise in Pandora.
